when you improve math, you will find nobody care so much if you are not math phd. Of course it is important, but not so important as expected.
If your target is top 10, the story might be a little different.

我现在在美国读MBA ，方向是finance , 但以前是念文科的，没有数学成绩，我在考虑是延长现在的program在读一年，还是去一个不太好的phd program,然后在重新申请。

in America, only phd math will be counted as important, since BS and MS level math might be so easy relatively to mainland
