Not really, they both got offers rite before this summer when Wall Street started to collapse. Most of their classmates are still struggling and even some of them already planned to go back to China due to the new OPT policy.
I would say the coming year would be much tougher for people who want to pursue a career on Wall street. I happened to have a chance to talk to the director of Mathematics Finance at NYU. Rite now they only have half of their students got placed, please pay attention to that their full-time class size is only around 30. And the director also mentioned that they even tried to "beg" the company to recruit their students. I was so impressed by their determination of placing studnets.
So my point is that even NYU (the best MFE program with the best career service in my mind) is going though a tough time, no mention to the other programs.
