读完博士后能不能进industry

金融学博士可以吗，经济学博士呢？

absolutely if you would like to. For finance phd, the salary in industry would be no less than that in academia. For econ phd, most ppl go to industry because they can not find a faculty job.

LZ还到这来发帖。。。(主要是因为LZ经常在硕士板块碰到，所以这么说，没有别的意思)

首先，今年，金融博士是非常难，经济学也是

再次，博士出来industry未必有优势，你还得考虑H1B，不像老师不用排队

不要再曲解别人的意思。

还有，一味说只有名校，Math是最重要的拿到的PhD的因素，我不是很同意，我也不像argue。（我这里名校就指北青复旦，最多加个武大，南大，浙大那几个大，也仅仅针对商科申请，别的我不了解。我自己也不是名校，当然很敬畏名校）

再再次，没有比较牛的研究经历和学术背景还是省省心吧

1. it is extremly easy for a finance phd who always has strong quantitive backgournd to get an industry job. Ur advisor would  let u find a job in industry only in the case that u can't land up a job in acadmia. For econ phd, it is harder compare to finance phd, but it is still much better than those phds from math, physic, bio or so on.

2. some mode building work do need phd, master is not enough for those kinds of quanative job. H1b is not a big deal in that case. most companies who is willing to hire u and pay u a big money will sponsor u green card.

3. They don't look at what's ur research paper and ur academic background at all, they only care how much math u mastered and what's ur school's name.

Last, please do be cautious when u reply to people in some area u don't know too much.
