enquiry regarding concentration/specializtion

Hi CDers,

I have some concerns about the MBA application

i am engineering background with 3 years W/E in a large engr company

but I wanna change my career to finance.

since currently finance/consulty become epidemic for almost every applicants, can i just say that I wanna get the management/strategical skills of my current fields in my application/essays when answering "why MBA?", rather than tell the panel that i am interested in finance?? If i am lucky to enroll in the MBA program, will it have negative impact upon my option to choose the finance specialization??
