Last year, there are over 30 offers from Duke granted to the CDers. But it seems not so many interviews here this year. Is it caused by the finance crises or people just tend to dive this year?

As far as I know, all interview invitations for R1 have been released.  Duke really wishes to interview every single candidate the School wants to have on the team. 

In terms of the number of offer extend, I think Duke is on the similar track as previous years.  More offers should be expected for R2.  Admittedly Duke adds a new EA round this year, however I expect number of offer for R1 this year should be at the similar level as last year.
