不明白答案为什么是A，as much as 和up to在这里有什么区别吗？

这明显说的是比较题,比较的题好象没有UP TO结构吧.而且这虽然是比较题型,但也应该结构的平衡原则,名词,修饰语,状语都平衡,那你为什么不选A呢?再补充一句用UP TO表达比较,这个结构是错的,至少我是没见过
