how slim is the chance of bringing your besthalf with you to the US?

and what can your besthalf do when he/she eventually comes to the US? while you are burried so deep in MBA studies? you don't want him/her to be cooking and doing nothing all day waiting for you to come back home everyday?

Right, I think that is why F2 need to be changed to F1.

Merrylili原来在US啊，那你的情况和我们mainland的没有可比性。我们是要为巨额学费（也许你认为不是）发愁的，我们要想着怎么挨过2年，然后尽快还债的。

从没认为读完MBA以后就是beautiful view, 想要比别人活得好，必然要付出更多的努力。MBA不是脱离苦海的途径，只怕是从此上了“贼船”了，想不辛苦都难。。。。

1、F2---F1还需要回国重新签吧？签过的概率怎样呢？
2、Jessi说的有道理，我们还要背负巨额的学费，为还债奔波。。。

为什么这么认为呢?

F2-->F1其实是很容易的一件事,即使在911后,也没有什么障碍,不要被某些流言吓到了.

F2只要有学校录取, 就可以转成F1,而且可以直接在美国转,大概需要3-5个月时间.但即使开学了,还没办好,只要是已经递交申请,就可以上课,但暂时不能从事TA/RA之类的工作直到转身份的通知下来.

半年前,我是这样转的. 前不久,我的一个朋友也是这么转的. 根本不需要回国. 材料递上去后,就是等.据说不是旺季的时候,一个月就可以下来.

如果你想把你的另一半F2过来, 而他/她也想读个学位的话, 有很多事可以让他/她忙的,比如考试,申请... 还有,过来后,很多想法会改变的. 让她/他先熟悉熟悉环境,文化,交些朋友,可以对自己的将来有个更好的定位,以后适应学校生活也会更从容一些.

Many of my friends' wife/husband can successfully trnasfer from f2->f1 without any problem. If they can have the exams done before coming here, that'll accelarate their progress and also ease their anxiety when come here. good luck!

我的计划是在上学的时候养一个宝宝，已经和太太谈好了。我有一个朋友就是在读MBA是有的第一个孩子，是有许多苦的。

呵呵，看来在美国的朋友消息就是多啊，而且都是很好的消息。怎么，什么时候911后规定回原签证地改签的规矩变了？

不过我是想在国内生个宝宝的，国内有条件可以请个保姆啊什么的，因为父母年纪大了，带孩子非常累的，老是指望他们support好像不好意思的说。在美国估计近5年是请不起保姆帮忙的，所以只好现实一点了。不过国内生小孩就没有美国公民身份了，不过这个我无所谓的，希望将来我们国家强大了，她/他也无所谓！
