essay 文章超过建议字数是否要紧

请问各位已经申请成功或正在申请的朋友，如果essay的字数超过建议字数是否要紧？ 听上次adcom讲稍微多一点没关系，但不知道应该到怎样的尺度，5%， 10%， 15%？ 谢谢！

well, the way I see it... no school would want to turn me down just because I want to give them a bit more information.  So as long as I tell my stories in a clear and concise manner, and keep my essays within 10% of the suggested word limit, it shouldn't be such a big deal.

In addition, just to be on the safe side, I only go over word limit on key essays, such as goal and leadership.  It would definitely give the admin a bad impression if you fail to meet the word limits on all your essays.
