Plus, Greenspan might not always be right. It is his prograssive increase in prime rate and his comments on mortgage help create this bubble. Many books and medias in the US have been critisizing his last few years as a Fed Chairman.

MSFs might have a hard time finding jobs, but MSAs might not have to. As long as business entities are still operating, they need auditors to endorse financial statements, they need tax planners to work even harder to save tax payments.

Agree with your MSA part. At least accounting could serve the economy in both good days and bad days.

I am not that negative. "hot money" are still there, if it is not in the stock market, it will be in the fixed income market, if not in the fixed income market, it will be in the commodity market.

Today the SEC annouced banning short selling of 799 financial institutes, and DOW jumped back to 11,000 by 400 points. There must be at least one market good to go. I like Obama, and it is history tested that the first year of the new presidency is good for the economy.

The same to which field should you study. If finance can't find a job, switch to accounting. if accounting can't find a job, try computer science. Say, being an auditor for several years, you found that finance is back to life, and you can try to switch back to finance, and it will be easy for you, right? because in addition to the academic training in finance, you have experience in working in a corporate setting, experience in reading financial statements, and very good sense of compliance. After all, it is not just your professional skill works, it is you as a whole.

At least I would not mind to try several fields, life is so short and I want to expose myself to as many different things as possible.

Nothing is impossible as long as you are willing to try.

My humble advise:

If you want to survive in the US, try to think and act as an American. Try to appriciate their value and make it your value.

I would like to share what I heard from Obama's recent speech with all of you who want to pursue an America dream:

"It's a market that created a prosperity and envy of the world and award the inovators and risk takers who made America a becon of science, technology and discovery."
