嗯，我也觉得最后一个they应该指代Italian vintners，但是我不太明白：

sell的用法是：当sell做及物动词时，应放在卖主的后面，如She sold her old bicycle to me. 当做不及物动词时，放在卖的东西的后面，如The new models of VCD sell like fun.（资料来自现代英汉字典）。

可是在这句话中，题目想表达的意思是：Italian vintners通过削价的方式的确是把酒卖掉了。

如果they指代Italian vintners的话，C选项中and they do就补充全就应该是: and the Italian vintners do sell their wines. 这里面的sell是及物的。但前面出现的be priced to sell中sell是不及物啊。后面的their wines怎么能也被省略掉呢？不符合省略的原则啊～～

不知道我表达清楚了没有，就是说这句话的后半句，前一个sell是不及物，后一个被省略的sell是及物的，后一个sell的对象能一块被省掉吗？

The teckets cost too much and wouldn't sell.
Our new products sell very well.

可是，they应该和前面的their指代一致啊~~指代Italian vintners
这样的话，sell只能理解成及物动词~~因为Italian vintners不能被卖掉啊~~

分号后的独立句子时态上应一致, 所以选c

           In choice C, the best answer, do is correctly used in place of the full verb do sell; in this verb, do is a conjugated form and sell is in the infinitive form, corresponding to its previous use in the sentence (in the phrase priced to sell).   

  C项的 Do = do sell = do to sell (do 为强调,确实, to 被省略,被省略的sell仍然为vi,  被卖, )

  所以 they 为wines, 我认为they 可以指代前面出现的their wines, their 在这是起到承上启下的作用,过渡一下而已, 所以可以不和they一致.

eg, 她的鞋被丢到垃圾箱里了, 它们是被丢了.

我觉得如果是they do 表示 Italian vintners do reduce their inventories.

如果是they have表示 Italian vintners have cut prices.

逻辑上说他们现在标价出售他们的酒,他们确实达到了他们的目的-减少他们的库存.

感觉they是指代italian vintners，

确实有规定，同一个代词必须指代同一个事物。前面their指代了italian vintners，后面出现的they就必须也指代italian vintners

而且，如果是指代wines，后面应该是and they are

不过，类似于and + they/it/he/you/she + did/do/are/is之类的省略，多数是表达主动的吧？

对sell的用法仍然confused，希望有NN解释下SELL的用法
