i think you will get very good oppotunity if you could be admitted by MIT Sloan.

they only have around 300 student for one year, and in 2007, Mck gave MIT around 60 offers.

Think abt it. Never simply regard Sloan a technical school. it is completely wrong.

以下是引用pathseeker在2008-8-21 3:35:00的发言:

Favored by MC firms in the following order:

Strategy: Harvard, Stanford, Kellogg

Finance: Wharton, Columbia, Chicago

Technology: MIT, Haas, Tepper

Good. HBS is also great in finance placement, 40% goes to Finance annually, lot of big guys in WS got MBA from HBS, like Hank Paulson, Steve Schwartzman, etc. and NYU Stern is also strong in Corporate Finance, while Tuck is good at placing graduates into MC.

Stanford is most famous for its IT entrepreneurship and VC,PE placement.

Dear lz:

If I were you, I would choose Duke. I believe that your background is very strong, but impossible is nothing especially in this depression season. Who knows,it's not rare to see that many big guys with perfect background were not able to get even one offer in reccesion period. Duke's admission rate is fairly high.

And if you intend to place yourself in MC, general schools such as Duke, Ross are more preferable. And from a long-term perspective, biz of strong universities would become more and more strong.

Thank you all for your candid advices!

To realliquan - I took a closer look at Sloan's employment report.  Yes, a large number of graduates went to the top MCs, but about 50% of their students are from an engineering background.  Having a business background and specializing in accounting, I face a tougher competition and find it difficult to demonstrate my innovation capacity due to the nature of my job.  So at the end, MIT is an excellent school, but not the best choice for me.

To Elitistclub - Without any doubt, HBS is the best brand, globally, in the realm of business school.  However, I feel my personalities do not match well against the HBS culture.

三十 和 静心 - Thanks for reminding me about Ross.  I have overlooked that school during my research.  General Management and Entrepreneurship are the two areas I want to focus my MBA studies on.  Ross seems to be a wonderful choice with good ranking, relatively large class size (more networking opportunities) and decent acceptance rate.

Please also bear in mind that the current job market is much tougher than before, and a 2 years program actrually maybe a better shot. In addition, if you target to land a job in a MC firm in US, Insead is not a right school.

Insead can almost guarantee you a MC position in Asia or Europe, but not in US. That's true. But if you take a look at the number of graduates recruited by MCs, Insead is dominating.

Thanks, I don't really look toward working in the states.  I'd like to work for a top MC in mainland China or HongKong.  Singapore wouldn't be too bad either.
