being已经是GMAC不喜欢的用法，不过语法上没毛病。 was extended有问题，该句中 extend不需要被动表达。如果D写成
    Columbus, the Incan highway, being over 2,500 miles in length, extended 那么就更具迷惑性，但E还是最佳答案，第一因为being，第二从逻辑意思上来说，was做主语，extending做伴随状语句子更通顺。
