D 很对啊。 D和E项的主要区别我觉得在于意思上有差异，E里 even when 有表示假设的意思，而D的although。。。表示after 石墨转变为钻石，heat and pressure is removed 这个事实 。

我查了merrian webster. thus is an adverb and means in this manner/way.

还有even when我认为是即使在。。。条件下。

E的thus 和 even when 不能连用．用一个就好了．语义重复了. 都表示即使如此．　

skyyuki11的解释是错的．其实原句本来的意思就是包含了现实和假设两种情况的．但D选项没有语法错误．尽管逻辑不对的．

应该是e，even when：即使当。。。

thus确实有表示in this manner的意思，逻辑意思来讲并不重复

我开始也选的d，语法没错，但是though用的感觉比较突兀

如果說是in this way/manner

好像不對, 因為句子好像沒有提出or隱含任何的way/manner
還是我對in this manner的意思理解錯了?
