大概好像是，road system是不能extend的，只有highway可以，而且并列除了句式并列，意思也应该考虑并列，考虑意思的并列就不妨翻译一下B选项：“最早的公路系统是Incan高速而且还延伸从。。到。。”就说戴帽子的是小明，戴帽子的从湖南到北京读书。好像不是很顺畅，所以在这种定义名词的Be动词就不能与实意动词并列。

求教。。难道有 同位语放在句首，修饰后半句（句子重心），再加谓宾 这种用法的么？  怎么感觉那么别扭
不是通常应该是  n.(重心词)，XXX（同位语），谓语+宾语  的么？？

我对这句话的一点小小理解，我感觉把句子这么写大家会容易理解：The greatest road system built in the Americas was the Incan highway which extending from northern Ecuador through Peru to Southern Chile, 而prior to the arrival of Christopher Columbus只是在说CC这个玩意之前Incan是最长的公路系统，over 2,500 miles long是描述INCAN的，所以我觉得Incan highway was是真正的主谓结构，The greatest road system是真正主语的同位语，extending的动作发出者就是Incan highway

本质上来讲road system和highway应该不是同位语，而是前者修饰后者。extend的主语应该是highway，而不是road system

如果B对的话，感觉修饰语中间都应该加逗号，比如The greatest road system, built in the Americas, prior to the arrival of Christopher Columbus , was...

E 中确实是the Incan highway 是主语，前面全部是同位语，后面extending也是作为同位语修饰the Incan highway

但gmat好像不prefer两个修饰语相连的情况，所以B也应该不对
