个人觉得
investigate sth就够了，
因为investigate就已经包含调查什么是什么，加了what显得多余

What是不能引导定语从句的，但可以引导从句，所以第一题what不能像that,which那样做experiments的同位成分引导从句，而E选项what明显是有动词的“would have”, 所以句子就相当于有2个动词，成分不对了
而第2题，what是做名词成分来引导从句的，也就是名词性从句，它不是修饰，他就是指科学家知道的东西关于恐龙脑子，也就是
the bony house of the brain located in the back of the skull
举个例子：What I know is babababa...

RON说E的investigate what...这个what多余，直接说investigate sth就好了

个人还觉得  句子的意思是说这个实验investigate effects on ....重点是调查effects ，而不是调查changes
所以句子结构上要清楚的表明是在调查effect才好。（确切的说，调查工作环境变化带来的影响，重点是到底有什么影响）

而E的结构不那么清晰
what the effects changes in working conditions....
把effects 和 changes 放在一起容易让人误解
其实读的时候是有断句的 what the effects (changes in working conditions) would have on....
但是这么说多不好
费脑子理解
还是B最清晰

这题E的错是，要么省略what the，要么写what the effects are

说少谓语的, I want to know what book you like to read.what引导的宾语从句。或者可以改写为I want to know what is the book you like to read. what is the book是宾语从句，you like to read是定语从句。当后面当做定语从句时，前面的名词book要有冠词！
