我认为as引导的是状语从句，其实就是as the rate at which trees grow is seen...，但是我不明白E选项中的of sunspot cycles不会引起歧义让人认为修饰earth吗？这样看来C选项就应该更好呀，On Earth, the rate at which trees grow is believed to be among the surest indications of sunspot cycles，as seen in the rings visible的逻辑主语为句子主语没有问题呀。望指教和拍砖！

Manhattan上的解释：as seen是一种modifier，需要紧跟在修饰词的后面，这里修饰的内容是：the rate at which...

就是一个比较特殊的例子吧，个人倾向于理解成和that,which一样不过把be动词省掉了，以前表示比较的时候也有过的： as estimated之类的。之前会认为是像介词+doing类似的，省略主语和主句主语或是紧跟的从句主语一致，看来不是这样的。
