答案是B，OG的解释是说sounding, defending, acting, scouting是parallel的。那请问为什么这里sounding和scouting之前

都有and？并列成分不是最后一个词之前加and就可以了么？

请NN指教。

帮楼主顶一下。这个问题也困惑过我。

我觉得似乎A也没错啊。

那个小对比是一定要用的吗？我倒觉得更可以理解为“作为sentinal来发出警报”。

我的理解：

1）首先大结构是rock在上面提到的，没有问题

2）acting as sentinels and sounding, and sounding是否可以看做对sentinels的进一步说明？因为，我觉得这里并不是严格意义上的并列，而是用sounding来继续加强sentinel，不知这样理解是否正确？

另外，如果把acting asXXX和sounding XXX看做并列的话，那么B选项如果改成acting as sentinels, sounding是否正确呢？

请NN指点。

这里的acting as sentinel 和 sounding a warning的关系是并列的，不能改成楼上MM的写法。

都是补充说明defending the entrance的插入结构，要么同走要么同留。

你的意思是acting as sentinel 和 sounding a warning是插入语？？？用来修饰defending的？？

所以，这个句子的平行结构应该是defending, and scouting 平行。而，acting and sounding是插入。
