   选项A：depending on mass修饰有问题，可以修饰表示伴随动作，修饰star，但是star是depending on mass 然后compress itself into。。。还是depending on mass然后passes through a red giant stage？？
选项B：depending on its mass修饰似乎有点问题
        主要感觉B没表达出质量影响结果的逻辑关系
选项C：a star’s mass作After passing through a red giant stage的逻辑主语，错
        if错，用whether
        it优先指代a star’s mass，错
选项E：The mass of a star作after passing through the red giant stage逻辑主语，错
        it优先指代The mass of a star，错

我主要觉得B是表达逻辑意思不清楚，其实关键就是在于depending on its mass作什么成分，修饰什么，很混乱，说不清楚，你觉得呢？

我原来是觉得句子是象这样： Depending on its mass, a star will compress itself into a white dwarf, a neutron star, or a black hole after passing through a red giant stage. 那么Depending on its mass就有点象现在分词做状语， 而it也没有歧义，就是指star.
请指教，谢谢。

语法上没问题。但我觉得这样还是不好，

     翻译出来是：一个star依赖于其质量将compress自身为1。。2。。3。。

     D选项说：质量决定了一个star是否将compress自身为1。。2。。3。。

     这个“依赖于”我厂就是觉得读的很不舒服，不如D舒服

depend on 可以理解成according to， 这样说来星星自己不会根据，所以逻辑不对。明白了。
