以下是引用initialcd在2008-9-14 2:15:00的发言: I would like to know more about life at Kellogg. Things like how class runs, what are the major events, how to survive the windy winter (of course.. this one may be too early to ask..) and ect ect..... Really appreciate inputs from Kellogg students!!! Thanks! ---------------------------------- I will help answer your questions related to our life BEFORE the winter (for which you can ask our second-years). But I think I will survive as other people here. Life has been both busy and fun, stretchy and enriching. Before the orientation, students go out for a one week's KWEST trip to over 20 destinations of the world, relaxing and building up initial relationships; then a two-week orientation ("CIM") featuring crazy events like cheering competition, section showcase, section Olympics, “K”razy running, ball, etc. One leadership course is taught now, before the regular classes officially take off. There are 9 required courses to be completed in the first year during the 3 quarters. You can choose to get 1 to N majors by graduation, depending on what courses you take. Classes combine case method, field learning, lectures, simulations, etc. Many assignments are done in study groups of 5-6 people. As you may know, Kellogg stresses teamwork all the time. Almost everything is done as a group. At Kellogg you have lots of Global exposure opportunities, such as overseas exchange program, business / fun trip to South America, Africa, Russia, etc. One thing unique at Kellogg is that students are well respected and have great power and autonomy. Many many activities are planned and organized by second or first year students. You are encouraged to take on responsibilities and challenges as leaders on various occasions. For example, in the orientation weeks, 3 second-year students act as our section leader and they are awesome. Overrall, I like the culture here best - considerate, easy-going, creative, team-work...Even if I got to know the bad news of Lehman and Merrill, I am not worried, because I can still find a marketing job even if all banks turn bad (definitely hope not!). All kinds of companies recruit here. |
