首先我对于D和E的看法是这样的。。D fewer修饰的是可数名词pullutants，than后面补足了助动词does，但是缺陷就是than后面不对称了。

E的看法是less of我认为修饰不可数名词，than后面对称，但是我认为最好补充出do。。

所以这都有问题，那不存在正确答案。。

我觉得dingxiangMM的意思是：如果选项里有fewer certain pollutants than ...那么就是正确选项了。而D选项多了一个of。E的用法是less of +的用法

根據Oxford Practical English Usage (3rd edition), "fewer (of)"跟"less (of)"都是grammatically correct.

可是"fewer"跟"less"之後只直接接(代)名詞, 不可以接determiner(e.g. the/a/an/certain/each/his/her/etc)

否则为啥每个选项都有of？

如果这里有fewer pollutants, 我承认， 也是可选的
