我想在国内买个手机带到美国去，可行吗？应该买哪一种呢？实在不懂那个什么三频四频的东西。据说我们现在用的手机都是三频或者以上的？那在美国的要求是怎样？

yes,all the new cell phones nowadays are at least tri-band. You can buy any model and use it in US.

美国的频率是850/1900, 你买手机时只要手机支持这个两个频率就好了.

我们国内使用的是900/1800 频率.

the cell phone they provide for free is usable, but it is at least several generation behind the popular cell phones in China. And most likely you need to sign a contract with the cell phone provider.

I have not seen a single person from China living in US without a cell phone.
