同样的句型，为什么第一个能用sth Require of sb to do. 第二个不行呢？ 查阅过以前的帖子，有个说如果Require 后面的Sb 和 Do 之间是
被动关系就可以用to do 结构，如果不是就用that 引导的从句。但是这个解释在这两个题里也矛盾啊。
NN或者不是NN的，请走过路过，给盏明灯吧 。

第二个句子并没有错在require的用法，这里require两个用法可以互换

答案A语法和句式上面都是最优的，bcde都各自有很多毛病：

b不平行pay for jobs...for a job

C错在pay for固定搭配

d错在时态，a job was historically。。。or is one demanding

e不平行 as much for jobs。。。as for a job

不知道回答lz问题没有，继续讨论

lz的理解似乎有些偏差，第二题中的结构是require of sb that没错

但是第一题并不是sth Require of sb to do，required在第一句中做后置定于修饰research and development expenditures，其实是这样的意思：expenditures that are required of firms。即：sth be required of sb的结构，后面的是to do不定式表目的，跟require不是一起的。

    (以上兩種都用在假設法)

                    
    

• require ... to do sth
• require of sb to V (錯！不可用主動形式，不能用 to) 需改被動 sth are required of sb to V (of功能可以理解為by)

而对109题，blogfish对E的说法很正确。

谢谢各位指点，我当时只关注两种用法的区别了，没有看require 的作用了。还有一个问题，请问blogfish, 你说的两种用法可以互换是只在这道题中还是generally speak.
