Can anyone explain the following tables from FT.com? Based my experience and knowledge, the FT salary growth percentage is very
puzzling to me. How will the percent salary increase 3 years after
graduation is ~ 100%??? Note this is average salary increase, so I
think it can not be explained just by career switching, assuming most EMBA graduates do not switch career.

I know someone who graduated from a top 10 EMBA program
3 years ago. He got a promotion when he was in the program (but not
sure if it is related to EMBA). He is doing very similar job as he was
doing before EMBA, likely with similar pay. The problem is that if one
works for the same company in the same position after obtaining his
EMBA, why will his company give him a huge raise just for the MBA
degree? He was told that promotion is merit based - not degree based,
and only when slots are available. I know another EMBA graduate with similar situation.
