Sorry I don't have the chinese windows op system so I can't write chinese. 

1)  Bag checks (carry on) should be a random process to prevent racial profiling i.e., search every one who wears a turban. I don't think the process has any correlation with the amount of cash that you will carry. 

2)  Before you can get a bank account/debit card, a credit card or a driver's license, you need to have an address and a social security number SSN.  Probably takes two weeks for you to apply for a social security number.  Once you have the SSN, just stop by a bank of your choice and open a checking account.  You will receive a temporary debit card immediately.

1） yes .而且这个是因果倒置嘛，呵呵。如果他不搜你怎么可能只能你有多少cash，不知道你有多少cash又怎么会因为那个搜查你

2）for bank account/debit card, you don't need SSN or driver's license, passport is ok

For credit card, however, you do need to have a SSN because credit card companies use your SSN to track your credit history.

另外带1万以上在美国入境没问题的。你带100万进来，美国政府都完全欢迎，而且不会收你1毛的税或者手续费

不过1万以上要报关在美国

中国海关出境的限额要小很多，小心。不过可以在当地外汇管理局办理携款手续。拿i-20和护照就好了

I don't think a passport alone will be enough to open a bank account - checking. 

1.  The Patriot Act (anti terrorist) requires that the bank to verify a client's SSN for openning an account along with a physical address.

2.  Internal Revenue Service also requires the bank to verify a client's SSN for interest bearing accounts such as a checking account or savings account.

David, were you able to open a bank account with out a SSN in the states? 

At any rate, it only takes couple of weeks to get a SSN.

Yes, you can open a bank account without SSN. I hear people opening account without SSN all the time.

1.If I remember right, you just need to present after Patriot Act, no SSN needed.

2.If you are foreigner, you can fillout a tax exempt form for interest.

After all, SSN these days is only given for work purpose, not everyone can get it. ( of course, it's so easy to find an on-campus job)
