Topic: It is important to know events happening around the world, though sometimes they are unlikely to affect your daily life.

Nowadays, various informaition about diverse events, along with the development of society, is pouring into our lives. There is liile possibility for us to ignore these peices of news no matter what influence they have brought to our lives. From my part, I believe it is important to know events happening around the world for the following reasons.

For sure, there would be some people who argue that our time and energy is so limited that we can not spare any our precious time to know about these events which do not influence our life at all, and even the time of a glance at this news is scarce.

However, though this may take us some time and energy, it is necessary to get acquainted with them. First of all, it is too hasty to simply say that this event is of no use to us. Maybe it is useless for you at this momment, while it plays extremely important roles in other momments. In addition, to decide whether an event is crucial or not is not easy for us. Sometimes, we may make false judgement which may cause us to pay a heavy price.  To illustrate, last year, I heard about some news of the IBT examination, but I hardly paid any attention to it. However, when I decided to take this examination, there was even no vacant for me any more. This really cost me a lot.

In the second place, knowing these events may help us to expand our knowledge scope. In this modern world, it is essential to keep up with the tempo of the social development, otherwise you would follow behind. Also, although some events around the world may have nothing to do with us, it must be admited that, there is a tendency these days for people to talk about them. These events can provide topics for us to talk about and being aware of them would not lose us to an uneducated and unfavorable position.

In a word, from what has been discussed above, we may safely draw a conclusion that the advantages of knowing events happening around the world carry more weight than its disadvantages. Hence, in a long run, it is sagacious to  get aware of them.
