技术背景转金融真的很难吗?

Many thanks to everyone here. I agree that after MBA, my salary could be much lower than what I had before while the working stress could be higher. But for the family good, I have to give up something. Yep, I would like to squeeze into some consulting firm, however, most of those firms may be in mainland China, not in Hongkong. If that is the case, the family will seperate again. Anyway, thanks for everything. I have to make the decision: Go back to U.S. for the same function job; go for MBA, changing career; Or go to mainland China finding a job in Pharmaceutical or nutraceutical Industry(since I know the process and the whole documentation about FDA filing,familar with the U.S. nutraceutical market and industry, it should not be too difficult to find a job in China.)Well, sorry to bother everyone here too much. Just want to get your opion to help me make the decision.Thanks.

Also becuase of family considerations I am in HK now (the difference is that I was from mainland before moving here), so I think I can understand your feelings.

I think it won't be too difficult for you to find a job in HK or Shenzhen( these two cities are close enough to be viewed as one city).

And as for MBA, I think you can still focus on the former background if (I mean "if") you fail in applying for financial positions. But in doing so you are giving yourself an another chance. I myself had been admitted by a HK univ this year and I am also in my thirties.

I think you can find some good VC/PE jobs and leverage your expertise in phama industry. The key is to master the basics of finance during your MBA and have a good internship in the summer. Family is your personal reason, but will not be considered by your employer...
