apparently is used to say that you have heard that something is true, although you are not completely sure about it. Another way of using it is to express some idea about sth according to its appearance, although you can not be sure. Pay special attention to the difference between apparently and obviously. coz the latter one is used to say sth that can be easily seen or understood while the former one arouses suspicion. I can give u a good example: Tim invited a girl named Elaine to a party but she didnt show up, and Tim said: "well, apparently Elaine is not coming." and his friend Collin said: "obviously she's not coming, I bet she didnt even plan to" Tim used apparently bec he was still hoping elaine would come.Tim used obviously bec he was quite sure that Elaine was not coming and didnt want Tim to live under illusion.
