you got to understand what mba is for. traditionally, mba is for people who are in their late 20s to advance to the middle management level. but in recent decade, mba becomes a must for those who work with professional service firms. these firms normally urge their young analysts to go to b-school after they stay with the firms for two or three years. You see the average age of a typical mba applicant younger and younger. so, mba is really not for those who have already achieved a lot, instead, mba is for those who have a lot of potentials and dreamed a lot. this is the case for domestic applicants. international applicants could be a bit different. but the thing is with many years of experience and high level position in the corporate hieracrhy, you are up to the challenges of (1) convincing the adcom why an mba will bring value to you (2) demonstrating you are way much better than your peer applicants. the latter point is really difficult because even if you get a couple of more years of experience than your peers, you could not necessarily sound smarter in your essays. emba could be an option if you are really up to do an mba. |
