You don't need textbooks. At least for me, I only read handouts from professor and sometimes read in the libary. Hope this helps.

我现在考虑租房子．station nine, Alexan Place那些地方可能对我偏贵．dukechina.org上推荐的几个可能比较合适．我想与人合租800以下的2bed/2bath, 不知道您对类似Duke Court, Chapel Tower(near West Campus), Campus Walk(near West Campus), Campus Walk Apartments, Deerfield(drive to Duke), Duke Manor(near West Campus), The Forest(drive to Duke), Holly Hills(near West Campus), Poplar(near West Campus), Poplar Manor，这样的community有没有了解．哪个地方比较安全，干净，而且对读mba来说比较适合呢？

另外，找房子是直接联系lease office直接就可以预订了吗？

如果您有关于rental方面的其它经验和信息，还请指教．

我们的房子多在Alexan place 以及 Alexan Farm,需要开车.是不是刚去暂时无法买车?那么初到那边上学一般怎么去?

开学前准备需要做些什么? 比如看看会计概率论?

除了一些行李清单中的物品,有什么必须带的么? 比如电话,饭煲之类?

What we did last year is to rent a car and share with 2-3 ppl. It could take 1-2 weeks to finally settle down -- getting all the furnitures, knowing the environment, or getting driving license. Regarding pre-reading, if you have no idea about probability, maybe it is a good idea to warm yourself up. Otherwise, just take it easy.You will have enough busy learning time here. Hope this helps.

BTW, re cooking machine, totally depends on your preference. You can 1) Eat local foods 2) Eat in Chinese restaurant 3) Buy a cooking machine here ($30-50 in Asian Market) and 4) Bring your own machine. Peace out.

Actually for Alexan place, you may get a deal something like $900, which is pretty decent. Because lots of Duke MBA live in AP and there are lots of events and parties there. Besides, the environment of AP is nice. Regarding other apartments, I am not sure. I live quite close to Deer Field, and it is a fantastic place surrounded by Duke forest. You can see deer every day. You could search online for some information. Good luck with packing and enjoy!
