跟大家讨论一下og11-8的句子结构

我看了之前的帖子，却没有看到关于这道题目结构的解释，所以就想单独拿出来跟大家讨论一下。

这题考点我都没有问题，我奇怪的是if /when从句在句中的位置。if /when引导的壮语从句，都是跟在主语，rising inventories 后面，这很奇怪。我特意查了张道真的语法书，它里面说了状从的3个用法，

1。 修饰谓语。come whenever you like.

2.修饰定语或壮语。She has made greater progress than we expected.

3. 修饰整个句子。We'll set up more papaer mills if we can get enough raw material.

可是，og11-8里的if/when却是来修饰主语的，这真得很不make sense?

有人可以解释一下吗?在此谢过！

个人认为这属于省略从属分句,其形式特点是“主语＋be的一定形式”，省略的要求是句子的逻辑主语与从句的主语相一致。

我们可以看到，这个分句其实属于条件句，其连词为IF，省略的从句完整表达应为if rising inventories are not accompanied by corresponding increase in sales,因逻辑主语inventories 是一致的，因此做了省略。若把这个省略了主语的从句放在句末修饰整个句子的话，就变成了Rising inventories can lead to production cutbacks that would hamper economic growth,if not accompanied by corresponding increases in sales.可以看出从句的主语已经与句子的逻辑主语分离太远了，且容易把从句的主语理解为前一个名词，即为economic growth.这显然逻辑错误。因此在从句省略主语的情况下应紧跟名词，要修饰整个句子的话应为完整的主谓结构才可以。
