133. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? A person's childhood years (the time from birth to twelve years of age) are the most important years of a person's life. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer. 

 When it comes to the issue that whether one's childhood years plays a vital role in one's life, controversities may be raised by different group of  persons. Some people may hold the opinion that chilhoods have significant influence in a person's life, while others may disagree. From my personal angle alone, both sides of the issuse may oversimplify the question and I will regard childhoods to be one part of one's life which can neither be ignored nor be overemphasized.

In the first place,one's childhood may play an important role to one's life for the simple reason that in this period of time a person adapt personal characters and attitudes toward life. As we all know that ,education before high school is important to a child simply due to the importance of  childhood years. A chid may learn how to communicate with his/her friends  and thus learn how to deal with relationship between various people in the futrue. Futhermore, in the childhood, a child may develope the basic attitude towards life which can be gained from the parents.A well -educated child will hold the optimistical attitude towards life and be willing to help others.In a word, the importance of the childhood years cannot be ignored for its great influence.

However, it is  exaggrating to put the childhood years into the most important position in one's whole life. A socialized person can be adopted through a long period of time which involves the time spent in schools and society.A person  will learn the acdemic knowledge from college which will promise the basic living skill for him/her while he/she will learn more experiences from society. How to deal with business issues and how to coorperate with work partners are some mordern examples which calls for attention of social abilities. However, though these skills are necessary for an adult, they can not be gained during the childhood years. In this way , it is undeniable that childhood is only a part of one's life  which can not be overlooked.

After analyzing both sides the issue, the question of  how we evaluate the position of childhood years may be raised. In my opinion, childhoods is a time when a person can learn some basic rules of society and a period that one can be part of a society. In this case, parents and teachers should pay much attention in educating the children not only the skills of speaking or writing but also the ability to communicate with others.A modern examples can be the education methods of Carter who educated his son to become a great professor. He insisted that childhood years can be a fundamental part of one's life.In a word, we should take the childhood as a basis of one's life and only when the basis is firm can one eventually develope a promising future.

In conclusion, I disagree that a person's childhood years are the important years of a person's life. This claim overemphasize the role of one's childhood.
