这题主要应该注意 different from 是固定搭配，different than 是错误的所以排除 BDE

differ from 已经改变了 different from 的意思，所以排除C

E中有than，但前面并没有出现比较级，所以E错，选A

此题目的主语应该是they: nuclear attack submarines, 故排除B,D；另外be different from是正确选项，排除E；C选项应为engage sb in, 且分句from the tasks they were built for与and for which。。。不平行

我认为 A is different from B是比较两类对等的或者同类的食物，这里A是missions，B是tasks，所以用from

I chose D. I do consider that "different than" is the same as "different from". I googled many examples. In D, "the missions" does compared to " the taskes".
