Just had a phone interview with the Chair, about 15 minutes.

Very
casual questions. Why do you want to be a professor? What other schools
have you applied? Any news from them? And then the chair began to do
her talking...

Some info about them:

The past placement
record was not so great (per the Chair). But they are really  trying
to  push up the program  (increase the stipend,  re-structure the
curriculum,  let the students start research earlier, etc.). In 5-10
years' time, they want to place students in peer schools (per the
Chair).) The stipend this year is 29k (It kinda surprised me coz they
are a public school...) + tuition + health insurance

They
interviewed 8 people and plan to admit 4...decision will be made by the
end of this week (I don't know why, but I feel that I did not do very
well in the interview...).

By the way, the interview was
scheduled to be at 3:30. I opened up everything in my computer just in
case I might miss some points (my PS, literature review, my notes for
routine interview questions, etc.). Then at 3:29, my damned IBM got
down! I had to reboot it and I didn't even log in until I finished the
interview...

and also their damn qualification exam

even they give me 39k I wont go there, coz I will be freaked out and kicked out. I HATE MIRCO

I like micro though, esp. game theory. Although most game theory prof. think they are teaching game theory but not micro...

I also heard that their micro prelim is tough...
