However, I'm wondering why HBS does not follow the same procedure in R2 as in R1?

They updated the blog on 11/07 last year to explain that they would slow down sending out invitations for they had begun conducting interviews from 11/05. Whereas for R2, they give interviews at the same time as they review the packages from the very beginning.

It's obvious that there are more applicants than in R1. It seems that time does not actually matter and they can well manage it after all... - -|||

hi everyone, fully understand the painful waiting process, especially for our dream schools.

Just two cents on how to use the time

1) prepare for the interviews that you have and try to get the offers; there's really no way that you can push for an interview that you don't have for now

2) even though you don't have HBS interview sofar and you have pretty strong confidence that you will get it, since you have known the interview date, I strongly recommend you start to prepare for the upcoming interview (even this may eventually not happen) as early as possible, i.e. collecting relevant information; practice your story; do mock interviews etc.

Hope it helps and all the best !

If you think about it, it would make sense.  There is information sessions and extensive travels associated with those events during R1.  There is also the Thanksgiving, Xmas and New Year's holidays.  R2, on the other hand, has significantly fewer interferences.

Damn... It looks like I'm just losing a big bet... - -|||...

I'm just wondering if anyone has claimed where-so-ever that he or she, rather than some "friends", has got an invitation in Mainland so far?

对了,,,很好奇,下面这个人 R1 进去了没,,,好像一直没见到他说interview 或者acceptance 的事,,,

I will apply in round one as well.  I work for the US Department of State and have been assigned to the US Embassies in Athens, Greece, Jakarta, Indonesia, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.  From those posts, I have worked all over Southern and Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia.   I speak Indonesian.  I am married, I have three children, and I am 28 years old.  My wife and I own and operate two start-up companies, one socially responsible, the other more commercially motivated (but not irresponsible).  I served on the board of a non-profit with 100+ employees for three years and was its president for one year.  I am an outdoorsman and competitive triathlete.  I took the GMAT a year ago and do not intend to retest.

另外很好奇,这个人怎么进去的(根据他自己报的),,,还是我理解错了,,,老实说,如果真是这样的话,HBS请我去,我都不去

So if you are preparing for your intervie:
-be extremely familiar with your application (call the person that wrote it and let them give you an executive summary).
-be relaxed (when you sign-in at Dillon ask for the complimentary deep tissue massage)
-be nice and humble. (talk about your experience during the class visit, how you thought the student were complete morons and how your inifinite wisdom will be necessary to guide them from the darkness of their ignorance)
-hand your interviewer a small 'appreciation' envelope on your way out, even adcom members get squeezed this time of the year, no need to be a Scrooge.
