想问一下中国学生毕业后的去向，国家及行业~

找工作关键是看个人。 今年目前 1  IB London, 1 big four london, 1 rating company london + chicago, 1 CICC Beijing, 1 HSBC China

我想了解一下placements,特别关心的是PhD track...

还有10个月读下来估计总共花费是在40-50万吗？

it's a good pre-step to any finance phd track.. if u apply the FE (research) and get distinguish in the final, then u can be  guaranteed in LSE finance phd and save one year in the two-year course study of the phd programme

请问学长，学业压力是不是很大呢？

having to say it's quite an intensive and stressful  programme. personally, i put to much effort in job hunting and fall behind in the first term. honestly, it is a system that students need to consider whether they can graduate smoothly seriously, since only the final exams are taken into account. also the exam at LSE is far more difficult than any exam I took in China before.

想问下这个项目中国学生占大概多少比例？
   还有毕业后想留在英国工作的话是不是难度比较大？

like 15-20% including all the BBC ABC and students got bachelor overseas...

again, it depends on ur effort to get a job pretty much.. as far as I know, many Chinese students don't acturally put the necessary for the job hunting because of the intense of this programme. the good news is u can extend ur visa for an extra year in UK for job hunting. and London is quite a fantastic place for fianncial industry.  i should say the best one in Eu at least.  however, u need to take the potential recession in the US and the world economy into account, which means this year is really really tough for banks.

DB doesn't hire anyone in London for its global capital department... which is the case for some other banks in the US as well

Does that mean one only needs to pass the final exams to graduate??

exactly, the only way they judge u is the final exam

I was granted a conditional offer for MSc F&E. But since I expect to do a PhD in finance after completion of the masters program, I worry about funding. Is full-funding ganrenteed for PhD finance student at LSE?

"Thank you for your application to the MSc Finance and Economics (Research) programme. Unfortunately your application has not been successful for this programme.

 

However the selection committee would like me to inform you that they would favourably consider you for the MSc Finance and Economics programme should you wish to be considered for that programme. if you would like to take the MSc Finance and Economics programme please let me know and please ask Graduate Admissions to change your second choice from MSc Finance (Full-time) to MSc Finance and Economics."

it should be more like a typical MSF programme in the US, however, I would say FE is somewhat more like or at least compatable a MFE programme in the US

Since MSc Finance is a part-time programme this year. I have no contact with students there.

first of all, it is not easy to get a distinction in the F&E programme and u r supposed to work much harder than others.

then the full-funding seems not necessary and it should be much less compared with PhD in the States, however,  I talked to a Phd student in finance today and she said u generally can get some financial aid. I am not 100% sure.

why not contact some programme assistant and get formal information.

only one thing almost sure is that it is a good reputation here and it should be much easier to get phd opportunity in reputational unversities either in US or EU

not necessary. but why not take this chance.
