During remote communication such as in a Messenger, Skype or QQ converstion, we can only hear each other without any facial expression or gesture language, which are helpful to transmit meaning.(this has reasoning problem somehow) While in a face-to-face conversation, this kind of problem doesn't exist. For example, just about 1 hour ago, when I was doing the Listening Section. I heard a professor in a certain lecture often stopped in his or her class, and repeated some of the words that the professor had just said. Why? Because the professor realized from students' facial expressions that they didn't totally understand what they had heard. And this kind of repetition ensured that all the listeners could understand. While(X) on the contrary, when I was listening to the lecture, there were also some words I didn't catch. But saddly I cannot see the professor speaking (reasoning problem. You can never see speaking.). If I could, I would probably be able to guess some of the professor's words by reading his of her lips. Also if the professor could see me, there would be another halt during the lecture because of my puzzled facial expression. |
