我觉得可以列些比这家学校排名低的.如果你列的其他学校都比这家好很多,那这家会觉得你是拿他们保底用的,会很不爽.

Choose some schools in the similar ranking range or share similar teaching method/atmosphere (case method, teamwork oriented, etc.). The point is you should be able to explain your choice very clearly without giving the school an strong impression that it is merely a safe school for you.
