An artistic presence of the first order和frequently ranked with Picasso, Stravinsky, and James Joyce都是主语的同位语。

Martha Graham,An artistic presence of the first order是主语Martha Graham的同位语,one frequently ranked with Picasso, Stravinsky, and James Joyce是An artistic presence of the first order的插入语(或同位语)。

An artistic presence of the first order, one frequently ranked with Picasso, Stravinsky, and James Joyce

presence (poetic/literary) GHOST, spirit, spectre, phantom ,supernatural being.

From Concise Oxford Thesaurus.

acclaim---to give public approval and praise:
e.g.

She was universally/widely/publicly acclaimed for her contribution to the discovery.
She is being acclaimed (= publicly recognized) as the greatest dancer of her generation

So A is the best choice.

acclaimed adj.be acclaimed 备受推崇     本题as是“作为”的意思, 如果接to be 就 ...

文中有一个long before,
