The school wants to know about YOU, not how good you write. If they suspect that someone else contributes to the essay, they would start questioning about your honesty - which is very serious in the American society. That could jeopardize your application. For example, an applicant who scored 4.0 in GMAT essay writing submitted a 6.0 essay in the application. You can be assured that the person's application will be ended up in waste basket. My suggestion is that, you should ask your friend to provide his opinion from a reader's perspective. Also, use spell checker to proof-read your essay before submitting.
