Recommendation Issue!

I'd requested recommendation letter from my previous employer last year(2006), and he wrote me a sound recommendation letter by the end of last year with sealed envelop. Due to personal reason, I decided to apply MBA this year(2007), and I still consider to use my previous employer as one of my referee....

The problem is.....should I use the paper-based recommendation letter signed in last December??  or if I don't use that letter, I have to create an e-mail account and go with the online recommendation....

please help....

I think the main question would be, is the recommendation relevant to the questions asked by the school?  If not, you might want to go back to the recommender and ask him/her to help you write another one or answer the specific questions asked by the school(s).

I'm thinking if I should put an optional essay to explain the situation...as I really don't want to change the recommendation content at the this point...no sufficient time la..

If it is, it won't hurt to ask the recommender for permission to open the envelope, type it up, email it to him, and then have him submit it himself.
