stanford和harvard录取后可以延期一年入学么

申请绿卡中，估计2008年批不下来。
如果不能延期入学的话，就不申请这两所的full-time了。
有人了解么？谢谢

According to the official websites:

Deferral is rarely granted, and will be decided on a case-by-case basis, which means you may and may not get the deferral.
