我在美国.但我不想告诉学校我刚刚没工作了.学校会查EMPLOYMENT历史么?怎么查?

这没什么, LAYOFF后申请学校的人大把. 我知道不少美国人在学校问起时,都是大大方方的跟学校说自己被LAYOFF了.

学校一般不会查你的EMPLOYMENT历史.

不用担心。我一个做HR工作的朋友说，即使有人查，也只能查到你的工作时间，从什么时候起，到什么时候止。其他是查不到的。HR一般也不会告诉太多的信息。

you can say:

1, because of the layoff, you are aware of your un-competence and decide to improve yourself.

2, don't mention the layoff, just tell them you want to improve yourself and leave the job.

3, ask your formal direct manager to write a recommendation letter for you, that will be a good illustration of your ability to balance the fact that you have been layoffed.
