Hi, thank you for help~ I have some question about internship

Is there any special support from GSB to help student find VC intern? My background is technology and enterprise combined. No financial experience. But I like Chicago GSB very much and wanna to try. 

I heard that there is a institute called olsky Center for Entrepreneurship.Does it mean GSB have special focus on VC area?

As a first year student with IT background, I assure you this is definitely NOT the case for GSB or for any other top business school. What's matter most is not which industry you are coming from, but how you make yourself stand out from other applicants. Actually, I think your IT consulting background could be your advantage to apply for GSB, since there aren't many applicants have the same background as you.

Everyone has something unique. You just need to let the adcom to see the best of you. Outstanding people stand out. Good luck!

Xiaoqian2007, you are right. GSB is the right school for entrepreneurship and venture capital. olsky Center offers extensive resource for entrepreneurship program.  The courses not only focus on how to develop a venture from a entrepreneur’s point of view, but also on how financing effects new business success from a investor’s perspective. Actually, Entrepreneurship is one of the most popular concentrations in GSB. The New Venture Challenge would help you to test your plan in the real business world and communicate your idea with the venture capital community. "More than 40 companies have been started by Chicago GSB students while enrolled at the GSB or other schools at the University of Chicago as a result of the Edward L. Kaplan New Venture Challenge business plan competition." Those companies raised USD 100M in total!  

In another contest called Venture Capital Investment Competition (VCIC), you will sit at the other side of the table and play the role of venture capitalists. Isn't it cool?

If you are a career switcher, one of the best things is that GSB has the most flexible curriculum in the world. You can customize your MBA education to enhance financial knowledge. There is no better person than yourself who know what you need most.

Chicago GSB offers extensive financial classes. Anyone who are interested in IB definitely should give it a try.
