这里not  but是形式不平行的，但是怎么看出是结构平行，什么叫结构平行呢？

这里理解成,并列句-----并列句主语相同,应该省略重复的主语, 这样MM就好理解了.

MM平行不能光看结构的, GMAT很多平行还会用结构上的平行来迷惑我们. 这里BUT在内容上, 是要和 宾语从句里的谓语

are 和平行的, C会造成歧义. reproduction or survival, but XXX 是在一起的结构.

加了ARE就可以跳过这个FAVOUR和宾语从句的谓语ARE来平行了
