[求助]宝宝妈妈要申请——大家给点建议阿

本人背景：

Shanghai top university bachelor, major in chemistry, GPA 3.4

3 years Working E in Human Resources Counsulting (head-hunting firm, 公司还不错，客户很多500强)

1Y F2+ 2Y H4 in the US, one major achievement -- a lovely energetic baby girl, now 11 months old.

Toefl 657+ 5.0,  GMAT 760 (AWA还没出来）

本人愿望：

1。不要太累，竞争太大的学校，可以照顾宝宝，

2。最好要有奖学金.

3. 最好不要夫妻分居 （老公是postdoc in Physics)

大家看我申请些什么学校比较合适？

now in washington state.  i mean maybe i should choose big cities where there are more universities or research organizations...and eliminate those small town colleges...

补充说明：本人完全没有商科背景，这是一大硬伤吧。。跟这里很多大牛比起来，更是没有什么很强的ambition，只求毕业后好找工作混口饭吃。。有没有谁好心人介绍一下，推荐一下学校啊。。想赶一月初的申请deadline,谢谢谢谢！

I really do think that you should go best school you can find;
You may consider apply schools after you get greencard (or at least get A number);  This will give you advantage when you graduate and you also can get student loan;
If you have't started greencard application, then forget the above comment.

    
Because you are H4 now, you cannot work for money but you can do some voluntary works;

不要太累，then go to schools which have more older students and more students with families.

You have a solid background in chemistry which can be used in a lot of industries such as Chemical, Environmental, Pharmaceutical, petrol, food, and more. 
3+ yrs W/E;
You have demonstrated an excellent quant skill in your GMAT;

So sell yourself for "market research / analysis" (Most of top schools have).  Tell them you want to do market research related to Chemical industry or other.

1、压力大不大完全取决于您自己的心态

2、奖学金，去看从前的帖子，很多学校都有

3、去你老公的学校

如果你们是递交了485，那你就是用485 PENDING的身份读书。不需要EAD。但是你要申请实习、GA等等，就需要EAD。

贷款就比较复杂，得具体看学校的政策了。

奖学金的可能性更难说，要看您的APPLICATION PACKAGE了。1Y F2+ 2Y H4 －－GAP很长，这是最大的麻烦。

I guess you are waiting for the approval of 485.  Ask adcom for your
situation - greencard pending (tell them you alreay has Alien
registration number  and you are in the process to adjust your status; You don't need any visa such as F1 to go to school;
actually if you apply F1, then your GC application will be
automatically terminated!  You have EAD- working permit, which allows
to work for any company).

Ask several schools, whether will they treat you as an international student or a permanant resident?
If
they treated you as international student, then you need let them know
that your greencard is pendind and you already has working permit,
which allows you to work for any company when you graduate from MBA.

If you applied as a greencard holder, schools will ask your A number. 
If certain schools cannot answer your questions, treat yourself as
permanant resident.

I
only knew person applied B-school when greencard pending, but he got GC
before school started.  So I was unclear there was a verification of GC
or not. 

I really don't know about student loan.  Just keep in
mind, if your husband moved with you and he can find a job.  Then you
really need about tuition (~$80K for two years; if your husband's
employer provides healthcare coverage for whole family, you don't need
pay health insurane).  Check your bank account first.  See how much you
need borrow.  The interest of student loan still higher than your
saving account, so you want borrow as less as possible. You and your
husband should already establish credit history.  Borrow money should
be easy.

"那我申请奖学金的可能性有多大呢？"  No one know, just try it. Good luck.
