美国今年就业前景不妙哦

各位还未进b-school的同学大不必如此的义愤填膺，jessica说的无非是我们这些走过这个流程“过来人”看到的，听到的，以及自身经历过的。投行不投行，你喜欢就去申请，不喜欢就可以不去，你可以不喜欢投行因为铜臭味太重，但别人也可以因为觉得有助与将来事业发展而喜欢投行。
投行给钱多，好像大家因果关系都搞错了。工作强度大，自然要有物质上的补偿，公司希望能够招到比较好的毕业生，当然也更愿意付一些premium，这并不代表没去投行的人并不优秀。
mba给你带来的一个最大的优点无非就是career mobility，就是你哪天做的没意思了，都可以顺利的找到下一个工作。consulting和banking基本上都是generalist，所以不会一上来被局限在一个industry，transferrable　skills也可以最大化，相信这也是６０％－７０％的mba graduates都把这两个行业做作为首选的原因。
废话了这么多，是因为以前在cd也算是比较活跃，在ib和mc的人一般都比较忙，谁也不会有那份闲心跟你来argue，一群没做过ib的人争来争去，也未必能争出个所以然来。在你们前面的路还太长太长，目前阶段还是open minded一些，对于jessica这样ivy league毕业过来人的话还是稍微听些的为好。

Take easy. 

Understand yourself (strength, weakness, etc) and what is you want in your life, and find your best suitable job to fit your life.  Remember, career is an important part of your life but it is just a part of life.
 
My brother-in-law was not 最好的毕业生 at all when he was in MBA; he was almost 40 yrs when he graduated, but he knew what kind of career he wanted.  He didn't give up.  After searching and searching, he ended up a VC firm.  Among 200+ MBA graduate that year, his pay was among top 5.

Yes, US economy is getting worse in the near future because of those sub-prime problems.

But i think it is always possible to land a dream job no matter how bad the economy is... it depends on yourself.

另外，作为MBA在读，也说一下对IB的看法

－－欧美人里，对IB感兴趣的人还真的是比例不高，可能美国几个学校高些吧

－－IB收入确实很高，即使按照hourly rate算，也远远超出industry

－－今年的finance欧美就业不太好，香港、新加坡还不错

－－industry还没什么影响

－－我个人对IB没什么兴趣，如果是AssetMgt可以考虑一下不高估计每人要俺

在B-school里面，最好的毕业生绝大部分（注意啊，我没有说楼主不属于“最好的”）去了追求经济效益最大化的领域 － IB, IM (Investment mgt)，以及其他一些相关的所谓Street上的工作。
