Tomorrow is another day!

Agree to 12th floor. In my opinion, LZ needs to learn how to cherish what you have at any moment during life. When something is gone, it could be gone forever...... BTW, I have lived in Canada for 12 years, and I know exactly what LZ is talking about.

If LZ hasn't read yet, I strongly recommend the following post. There is a link to English video version on 59th floor.

I understand what you guys are saying, but I have had so many defeats before. Pretty much all through the 3 years I have been here. In the beginning I couldn't even get a job as a cashier or waitress. I applied, failed, applied failed, applied failed. Up to the point I suspected that God is against me. I graduated with double majors amoung the very top of my university or God's sake, but nobody apppreciated that here. I feel that someone has knocked me off the running track right before I saw success. I was devastated when I came here, all that was supporting me was the hope that I would be back to my normal life before, else I would have been defeated a long time ago. But yes, I understand I should keep on going, and that's what I am going to do. But the thing is that I would be so devastated to go to a school that's not of the first rank, because now that I have experienced all this, it's almost not worth it to go somewhere I don't really want to just to get out of Canada. But of course, the top schools are competitive, I fear another failure...

Life is way more beyond job and career. Here is one of my favorite passages, about 'life and beer'

A philosophy professor stood before his class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty jar and proceeded to fill it with rocks, rocks about 2" in diameter.

He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, of course, rolled into the open areas between the rocks.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was. The professor picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else.

He then asked once more if the jar was full. This time the students were sure and they responded with a unanimous "Yes!"

The professor then produced two cans of beer from under the table and proceeded to pour their entire contents into the jar – effectively filling the empty spaces between the sand. The students laughed.

"Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The rocks are the important things - your family, your partner, your health, your children; things that, if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would till be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, your car."

The sand represented everything else. The small stuff. "If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued "there is no room for the pebbles or the rocks. The same goes for your life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you."

"Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out dancing. There will always be time to go to work, clean the house, give a dinner party and fix the disposal."

"Take care of the rocks first -the things that really matter.  Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the beer represented.

The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of beers."

turn off your mind. Getting a rec letter from your boss can be a great case of your leadership experience - how to persuade other people, especially senior-level people like your boss, by conquering big difficulty. All schools like candidates with strong leadership ability.

Therefore, once you made decision, try your best and never give up!
