Hi, forks.

Please give me some suggestions for my school selection-finance phd program (30 programs):

dream schools:

harvard/stanford/mit/warton/nyu/northwestern/chicago/berkeley

second class:

yale/duke/columbia/ucla/cornell/cmu

third class:

emory/austin/usc/wustl/rochester/unc/osu/purdue/umn

backups:

vanderbilt/gatech/uiuc/boston u/boston c/maryland/

background:

THU BE EE GPA 3.6

Vanderbilt University  MS CS GPA 3.6

Univeristy of Iowa MA Economics GPA 4.0

Boston University MBA GPA 4.0

Rutgers MS Operations Research and Statistics GPA 4.0

5 journal papers published, several under manuscripts. 2 national computer science patents，several years of TA, RA and Fellowship in US different schools。3rd place in US junior business achievement competition。4th place in US ITP business competition。2 years Full time job Microsoft. GMAT 750. Strong rls from US professors.

I hope at least I can get offers from 3rd class schools.

i need your guys's suggestion. I plan to apply all of these schools. If I fail to get an offer from these schools, I will switch to apply marketing next time.

You don't need your "third class" and "backup".

one of my friends who is a finance phd in a 3rd class school told me that I should at least obtain 2 masters before I apply phd program, that's why i got these masters. actually, a school like emory/wustl is already good for me. i just want to make sure if i am competitive for these kinds of schools or i need more backups such as schools like UIowa, UMissouri, UMass, Rutgus

backup就不用了，third class 选两，三个就行，NYU应该比berkeley难进多
