70. Some people think that the automobile has improved modern life. Others think that the automobile has caused serious problems. What is your opinion? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

I can still freshly recall that five years ago when I turned on TV, what jumped into my sights immediately were advertisements on DVDs. Five years later, advertisers are serving for a completely different product: automobile. Why? It is because with the fast development of the modern society, automobile is becoming a more and more indispensable commodity for modern people. Facing the prevalence of automobile, people are constantly questioning: is automobile improving our modern life, or is it causing problems? From my perspective, although there is no denial that automobile does cause certain problems, as nothing is perfect, I still ardently uphold the standpoint that automobile, with its high-efficiency and convenience, is exerting an unquestionably positive impact on our modern life.

Admittedly, it is undeniable that automobile does inflict some passive impacts on moderners' life. One obvious problem is the deterioration of people's health. The more people drive, the less they are likely to walk. Nowadays, it is not rare for us to hear the grumble of drivers about their sore legs and stiffened muscles. Moreover, automobile is also causing severe environmental pollution. They constantly emit carbon dioxide and other poisonous pollutants and waste gases into the air, causing more and more severe air pollution in not only metropolitans, but also small villages.

However, although automobile does have the above stated defects, it is still believed that its merits far outweigh its demerits. To start with, with the fast pace of modern society, moderners are doing everything to pursue high efficiency, and what automobile offers them is exactly what they have been longing for ages. Now, they do not need to waste time at bus station and in the subway. Neither do they have to worry about the terribly stuffy air and narrow space when they are striving for an inch space on public transportation. Owning their own fashion cars, white-collars can get to their companies in a blink time, fresh and fast. They can also go to other places driving their cars if they are asked to go on an errand. I can never forget my mother's joke:" After having my own Toyota, it seems that my company is just downstairs."

What is more, automobile, with its convenience, is providing modern people with a more colorful life. Years ago, people in China are afraid of talking about 7-day-holiday on May Day and National Day because although these are perfect times to go travelling, they would rather stay at home due to the horrible mass wave at the train station. Now, with the presence of automobile, they can freely and happily choose to go excursion on holidays. These little excursions can not only help people relieve all their pressures and anxieties from work and study, but also grant them a perfect atmosphere to refresh relationships with each other.

With the advent of the 21st Century, automobile is going to play a more and more indispensable role in modern people's lives. Although they may cause problems to us, which will definitely be eliminated by the fast-developing technology of automobile manufacture, I firmly believe that they are making our lives more efficient and convenient. If you still feel reluctant about believing in what I said, buy a car and have a try. I bet you will experience the perfect feeling by yourself after a simple 5-minute-enjoyment.

A hundred years ago, invention of car drive us into industrial revolution era. Currently, we our common people live without automobiles. While we appreciate the convenience that cars bring in our lives, someone begin speculating its negative effects, such as global warming, pollution, and environmental habitat ruin. However, from my perspective, I still believe that automobiles have shaped our life positively.
