[求助]Please give me some suggestions about my application in Ph.D program in Fina

Please give me some suggestions about my application.

I would like to apply a Ph.D. program in Finance, and here is my my previous
education background and research experiences.

Major: Finance GPA 3.3

First Master degree: MBA, domestic school, GPA 4

Second Master degree: MS in Economics in US GPA 3.8

One year study in a Ph.D. program also in a domestic university

Two conference papers, one in domestic conference and another in Tokyo's
conference

One master thesis award

One year RA working experience.

My GRE is 1450 but with terrible writing  score 3

    Could
everybody please give me some suggestions about what kind of rank of schools
that I should apply? Before Top50? or Top 50~100? Do I have any chance to get
into TOP 50 Finance program?

Thanks a lot.

You'd better take GMAT, because I believe you can get much higher % in GMAT as you get high score in GRE. To tell you my experience just for reference. My GRE is 1380 5.0 which is relatively low to you, but my GMAT is 760 6.0, which is good enough for any top school. And actually I didn't prepare more for GMAT than for GRE. So best thing you can do is to take GMAT, and one more remark. GMAT writing seems more formulated, so you could use well prepared structure to ace the AWA part of GMAT. Good luck!

Hi Yession
Thank you for your suggetsion. Originally, I was considering to to take a GMAT test in this semester, but it seems impossible for me to do it, now, because I take five classes in this semester and part of them are in Ph.D. section. Thus, could you please give me some suggestions of my application according to my current conditions. Thanks a lot.

Fantastic VQ scores on the GRE. Did you take the test in the US?

BTW, why did you quit the "Ph.D. program in a domestic university" to go for master's instead of directly applying to foreign PhD?

Hi Joysource

Thank you for your reply. Originally, I just thought it could be a good chance
for me to see how people study and do their researches in abroad, and I might
continue my degree in domestic after I finish this master degree. However,
after I come here, I find I like here more, thus I decide to stay in here and try
to have my study in here.
